3 QUICK UPGRADES TO SELL YOUR HOME FASTER DURING WINTER
Winter is coming. Which usually cools off market activity along with the outdoor temperature. Luckily, there are some quick upgrades you can do to help sell your home faster during the slow, Winter months.
To make your home more enticing to buyers who are trying to escape the cold, you could install one or more of these three temperature control features to help you sell your home faster during Winter:
- Underfloor Heating
One of the quickest ways to warm up a space is to install underfloor heating. Suitable under tiles and carpets as well as wooden and laminated floors, DIY installation panels can cost around R2,000 for four square meters. It’s advisable to have a qualified electrician do the installation for you, but you are able to lay the mats down yourself if you would prefer. However, depending on what flooring you have, you may need to enlist some professional help to lift and reinstall the flooring. - Woodstoves & Fireplaces
In addition to creating a focal point for a home, indoor fireplaces are a great way of creating a cosy atmosphere in any room – just be sure it is properly installed so that the smoke exits through the chimney and doesn’t loiter around the room. As an alternative, woodstoves might not be as attractive as fireplaces, but they generate the most efficient warmth than any other heating option. - Heated Towel Rails
To add a touch of luxurious temptation to your home, install heated towel rails in your bathroom. Nothing beats the feeling of wrapping yourself in a warm towel. As a bonus, the heat generated from the towel rails also helps to warm up the rest of the bathroom, removing some of the chill that hits you when you step out of a hot shower.
If you do plan on upgrading, remember not to spend too much money to help speed up the sale of your home. While these upgrades can be done in a cost-effective way that may help you generate a return on your investment, they by no means guarantee a sale. If you cannot afford these renovations, simply switch on a heater before viewers come to see the property to make sure the space is warm for when they arrive.
